We're dabbling with the idea of sharing our kiln's downtime between our class projects. Rather than having it just sit idle.
Got your own setup at home but no kiln to finish the job? We’ve got you covered.
Our kiln-sharing service lets you bring in your pieces for firing, so you can keep creating
without the cost or space of owning your own kiln.
How It Works:
- Contact Us to Schedule: Reach out, via email or phone, to us to schedule a drop off time.
- Drop Off: Bring your greenware or glazed bisque pieces to us. We prefer Earthenware, but will MSDS for your particular stoneware.
- Choose Your Firing: Bisque F1 (Cone 04); or Glaze F2 (Cone 06) firing; Overglaze F3 (Cone 018-020). Other Cones available upon special request.
- We Fire It: We’ll carefully load, or you could help, and we'll fire your pieces in our kiln.
- Pick Up: We’ll notify you when your piece(s) are ready for pickup.
- Pricing: Based on kiln space used (starting at $15 flat kiln fee + $10 per 1/4 of a shelf; or priced by the piece)
- Turnaround Time: Typically 5–10 days, pending our firing schedule, number of piece waiting ahead.
- Firing Schedule: When there is enough for a half-full kiln load or 3-half shelves.
- Safety Note: All glazes must be cone-compatible and studio-safe. We use and prefer Mayco & Duncan, glazes.
