Gazing Balls & Pedestals

Sitting Fee and Tax Included in Price. Items are NOT to scale, see Dimensions.

Gazing Ball, Large 12"

$40 tax included

Simple and sturdy, this large ceramic gazing ball starts as bare clay and has endless possibility. Add acrylic or glaze, whimsical patterns, and personality, then fire it into a charming, finished piece perfect for gardens, centerpieces, or gifting something handmade and meaningful to anyone special.

Ball is perched on top of a short 12" tall Corinthian style column/pillar base.

Difficulty:  easy

⭐⭐

Detail:  minimal, blank slate

Dimensions:  12" diameter

Glazed Gazing Ball, Large 12"

Example ONLY

I was able to complete this in one class seating.  I used several Jungle Gem glazes:

  • CG-2716 Celestial Blue
  • CG-974 Bloomin’ Blue
  • PC-601 Clear Cascade
  • PC-602 White Cascade
  • SC-12 Moody Blue

I used white & clear cascade to help aid in the movement of the glazes to give the flowing effect.

Check out the Gourd Birdhouse link below as my inspiration.

Pedestal choices

We are offering 2 additional pedestals to choose from that can be done in class as well.  The two styles are Corinthian and Doric column. (pictured to right or below)

You are free to find another pedestal on Facebook or any lawn & garden store.

Corinthian Style pedestal, Large 12"

$25 tax included

The most ornate of the three styles, Corinthian columns are lavishly decorated with acanthus leaves and intricate designs. They represent the pinnacle of artistic endeavor in Roman architecture, showcasing a love for nature's complexity

Corinthian style column/pillar base has a wide stance and top whole large enough to cradle a ball.

Difficulty:  easy - medium

Detail:  minimal, blank slate

Dimensions:

      Base:  9"W - 9"L - 6.5"H

      Top:  8.5"W round

      Opening 5"W round

Doric Style pedestal/column, Large 15"

$25 tax included

The simplest and oldest style, Doric columns are characterized by a sturdy, fluted shaft and a plain capital. They lack a base and are often seen as a symbol of strength and functionality. Their robust design reflects the unyielding spirit of Roman ambitions

This column/pillar base has a hole to fill it with sand to add weight.  We recommend glui
